HAMONT MUSIC COMMUNITY: HAVE YOUR SAY at ‘SOUND OFF!’ ON 06/05

Attn: Hamilton Musicians, Promoters, and Local Music Industry Personnel

Hamilton has been selected by Music Ontario (a non-profit organization dedicated to helping Ontario independent music artists and industry reach their professional and creative goals) to host Sound Off! - Ontario - an exciting public forum which will be conducted in order to discover the needs of Hamilton’s music community.

The Hamilton outreach event takes place Wednesday, June 5th from 7-9pm, at the Art Gallery of Hamilton Design Annex, located at 118 James St. North.

This town-hall-style gathering is YOUR chance to voice your views, opinions and suggestions for direction directly to the people at Music Ontario whose job it is to implement and affect your suggested changes! Come and share your ideas, thoughts, complaints, feedback, issues, needs, wants… you name it! The discussion will be shaped around YOUR participation, so this is an opportunity not to be missed!

DR. DISC announces the “Raise the Roof” Concert Series, 2013 edition, pres. by Hamilton Magazine

The FREE 2013 “Raise the Roof” concert series kicks off this Friday, May 10 between the of 6:00 and 11:00 pm.

Friday, May 10 (Special store hours: 10:00 am until 11:00 pm)

6:00 – 6:30pm > The Sticky Roberts Band

7:00 – 7:30pm > The Dead Beat

8:00 – 8:30pm > Redanda

9:00 – 9:30pm > The Monarch Project

10:00 – 10:45pm > Engine Empire

Dr. Disc, the iconic downtown Hamilton music store, will once again be “Raising the Roof” by hosting free, outdoor live musical performances outside the store at 20 Wilson Street (at James) to coincide with Art Crawl Friday (the second Friday of every month) beginning in May and continuing through October. 

The purpose of these concerts is to:
• feature local, independent musical artists of all genres and expose them to as widespread audience as possible – for FREE!
• increase awareness of and highlight the diversity and vitality of the independent Hamilton music scene.
• encourage the public to come to downtown Hamilton to experience all that it has to offer.
• to give back to the community for the support it has shown for Dr. Disc since the doors opened back in 1991.
